Question by inferretswetrust: Sears Credit Card. Charged late fees but bank shows I paid on time. What should I do?
I put a lawn mower and a washing machine on my card. The advertisement said no interest for a year so I calculated the payments I’d have to make, with the sales person there, and I paid them every month on time. This March was a year since we put those items on my card. The items should have been paid off, but they weren’t. My husband and I sat down and took a look and saw Sears was charging us when we paid it on time. We pulled up our bank statements and saw we had paid before it was due. But they charged us $ 30 or over in late fees that total to $ 190. We could only see our payments until July of 2011. We’re requesting bank statements to see if any other charges were put on before that. I know we waited a while until we noticed the charges… but there are not statues of limitations to dispute just taking money for no reason. My husband and I are teachers and have great credit scores. I have a history of paying things off on time. But $ 190 is a lot of money in my household. What should I do? Has anyone else had this issue before?

Call them up and start yelling. Never do business with Sears again, they are filth!
